Professional Development Plan & Reflection

REFLECTION ON 3 YEAR PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN
Usually, a reflection is on something that has already been accomplished or attempted.  This time, I am reflecting on what will come.  While developing my 3 year professional development plan, I incorporated aspects that I need to strengthen (Finance/budget), aspects that are necessary (strategic plan), aspects that are needed (increase minorities in AP courses), and aspects that I will be involved with (E-High online courses).  This will guarantee me an opportunity to map out a broad spectrum of practices.  In a sense, it will not only serve as hands-on experience but it will sharpen my skills as I continue towards my career goal of becoming a leader of educators…a leader who is knowledgeable, goal driven, collaborative, a facilitator, willing to empower others, ethical, has communication skills, accepts diversity, and most important, and advocate to educate all students.  Utilizing the resources I gained through Lamar University, I feel I am well equipped to begin the first day of this 3-year professional development plan.
